About Me

About State Public Adjuster Randell Smith

New Project (30)

After graduating from high school in 1971, I attended North Texas State University.

After college, I began my career in the construction industry. It is here that I learned all of the ins-and-outs of house framing, concrete pouring, roofing, painting, and other facets of new construction.

I began to specialize in roofing (commercial roofing, residential roofing, reroofing, wood shingle, slate, tile, and built-up flat roofs). I worked on several framing projects during this season of my life, establishing relationships with several prominent builders in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I was a journeyman in the Plasters Union, and in the Carpenters Union.

All Seasons Roofing and Remodeling

In 1988, I reopened All Seasons Roofing and Remodeling and engaged in various room additions roofing and other remodeling projects. I managed roofing crews while subcontracting work from various roofing companies in Kentucky.

It was in 1998 I founded AFS Contractor, Inc. and sold and installed reroofs and re-siding jobs on hail-damaged residences and businesses. I then became a state-licensed roofing and general contractor in Minnesota. It was then that I opened a branch office for AFS Contractor, Inc., in Indiana.

I then became a state-licensed Class A General Contractor in Virginia. It was at this point that I was sent by the insurance companies to adjust claims and perform the restoration on hail-damaged residences and businesses.

I founded ACO Restoration, Co. and engaged in reroofing and re-siding hail-damaged residences and businesses in Omaha and Kearney, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Afterwhich, I became a state-licensed Home Improvement Contractor in Tennessee. It was here that I worked on reroofing and re-siding hail-damaged residences and businesses under the name Roof-Tech. I opened satellite offices for Roof-Tech in Columbus and Canton, Ohio, and serviced clients until 2004.

General Manager for JBH Roofing & Constructors

In 2004 I became a general manager for JBH Roofing & Constructors in Florida and managed their storm restoration division in Orlando, Pensacola, and surrounding areas following Hurricane Ivan. I also subcontracted work from FEMA/Army Core of Engineers (USACE) for Operation Blue Roof in Ft. Lauderdale and surrounding areas.

In 2007 I obtained a contractor license and engaged in the business of reroofing and placing modular homes.

Hurricane Ike brought me to the Houston metro area where I became licensed in the State of Texas as a Texas Resident Public Adjuster and assisted many businesses and homeowners in settling their Hurricane Ike damage claims.
